Find Me, Eternal Love

I let myself walk forward, keeping my eyes closed and following the pull in the direction it wanted me to go.

The darkness wasn't scary to me, and having my vision temporarily lost heightened my other senses, especially my ability to smell.

Following the path being laid for me, I caught the sweet aroma of roses. Excitement bubbled through me, but I kept focused on the image of Carter that floated in my head. He was staring at me, his mismatched eyes glistening even in the surrounding darkness.

He stood there, watching me, leaving me to wonder how many times he stood and watched me from afar.

The mere thought tore at my heart, and as I dwelled on the simple question, images flickered through my head as scenes began to play like a movie.

Coming to a stop, I forced myself to not panic, but to embrace the moment. Images, memories, and a swarm of emotions took over, wrapping around my body like a blanket and covering me entirely.

When I opened my eyes, I stood in darkness, but one after another the memories that flashed in my mind were appearing on the walls around me.

It was coming back to me now, even the memories from my childhood before I'd forgotten them all. The first time I'd met Carter flickered through my mind.
